Generator Technician

Onward Generator Maintenance Solutions is growing rapidly and is searching for an energetic experienced or entry level candidate for the position of Generator Technician (or apprentice). Responsibilities / Duties: 

• Technician is mechanically inclined with a willingness to learn about power generation and will be capable of electrical and mechanical troubleshooting and repair on diesel, liquid cooled gas and air-cooled gas engines while using the latest computer-based test equipment.

• Performing planned generator maintenance

• Ability to work independently, be a problem solver, and work with other technicians to complete tasks in a safe and timely manner.

• Respond promptly to after-hour call out service at the request of management

• Diagnoses and completes complex repairs to generators and components at the customer’s site and in shop

• Engages customers in a courteous and professional manner and anticipates and ensures prompt and efficient attention to customer needs

• Ensures adherence to all relevant Health, Safety & Environmental policies, procedures, and legislation.

• Available to able to be on-call for emergency services.

Preference given to these qualifications:

• Minimum 3 years experience in the repair and maintenance of generator systems from 8kW to 2800 kW is preferred.

• Journeyman or Apprentice (training can be provided to the right candidate) in the following trades:

• Electrician, Millwright, Electric Motor Systems Technician

• Journeyman Mechanic with Electrical knowledge

Wage dependant on experience.
